Official opening of Recharge Earth 2024

opening of Recharge Earth

During the official opening of Recharge Earth 2024, Cora van Nieuwenhuizen, former minister and current chair of Energie-Nederland, shared her vision for the future of the energy transition. Van Nieuwenhuizen emphasized the urgency of the process and indicated that there is a clear "need for speed" to achieve the objectives.

"My grandson turns 1 today, and for his generation, we really need to get this done. We need to make policy choices that consider affordability, safety, and supply security. It's now a matter of answering the how-question, and that needs to be done with some pace. I would say: execute, execute, execute. I'm optimistic that we can take steps together. But let’s all try to tackle the hurdles in the execution effectively. We must proceed with an absolute 'need for speed', otherwise, we won’t make it. We need to move from working on execution to work in execution.”

Energy transition is a collective responsibility

The message is clear: the energy transition is a collective responsibility and requires a coordinated approach with speed, innovation, and collaboration at its core. Recharge Earth 2024 provides the perfect opportunity to share knowledge and experiences and work together on solutions that pave the way for a future-proof energy supply. Van Nieuwenhuizen’s call to action underscores the urgency and importance of joint effort.
